Default As in Qantas sixty zero eight heavy ...

Why wouldn't "heavy" be interpreted as an aircraft that would usually call "heavy" after its call sign to signify a high probability of wake turbulence?

The A380 does not use 'Heavy' on the radio for wake turbulence.

It is in a new category - 'Super'.

Well it probably would be for people in the know, but most of the vehicle traffic on the airport doesn't listen to airband radio, and I'd say a vast majority of airport staff wouldn't have a clue that wake turbulence even exists in the first place, hence the need for signs that spell it out to everyone!

I'd wouldn't be giving airside permits to anyone who couldn't understand the need to stay away from wake turbulence and vortex danger areas.

If you have a spare few hours and are willing to buy me copious quantities of beer or, even better some good single malt scotch, then I'll happily sit down with you and talk about all the considerations for driving airside and what the requirements are, including the different areas for airside driving and the importance of the signage and why it is where it is.

Cheers

Wow!
Excellent shot Shameel.
Looks so surreal with the motion blur. I reckon you should send to Qantas PR/Marketing Department as im sure theyd love to use it haha
But seriously, great shot and keep up the good work.
Look forward to your trip reports at end of year.
Quickly regarding the fedex- was the subsequent flight delayed with the engine problem or was it fixed relatively quickly?

Great shot - If this is how good he can make the A380 look, imagine what he is going to do to the V Australia 773ER

Hahaha... well thank you for the compliments guys.

I'm not that good of a photographer, I'm better at enhancing photos as you'll see from my Flickr photos (you'll also notice I have a consistent 'style' of editing).
This was actually the first time I edited an aircraft photo in this way, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

...and Andrew M, you'll just have to wait in anticipation to see what I come up with the VAustralia 77W.

As for sending it to Qantas, well I've had people tell me the same about sending my BMW edited photos to BMW Marketing Dept. ... but I haven't mustered up the courage as yet.

Hmmm.. maybe I should sent that QF A380 photo to VAustralia's marketing department. Give them a preview of what I can do for them and their 773ER.
