QF multi stop domestic baggage question
If I have two legs of a Qantas multi stop domestic booking on the same day, can I check baggage through to the final destination? I can't find the answer on the QF website, so I thought I'd ask the knowlegable people here.
For example if I book MEL-CBR-SYD. Flight 1 being MEL-CBR followed by Flight 2 from CBR - SYD, with a one hour layover at CBR between legs. Can I check baggage in at Melbourne all the way through to Sydney, or do I need to collect my bag in CBR and take it to the bag drop? I only ask as I may need to do this soon. What was going to be a pointless daytrip flying around south east Australia booked ages ago when fares were on sale turned into something else. Thanks guys, any replies will be appreciated. |

G'day Ben,
Your bags will be checked through automatically all the way to Sydney. Cheers Mick |

Thanks Mick.
That's certainly what I would expect if it was booked as one flight. If I wanted to fly from say Melbourne to Coffs Harbour it would be booked as one flight with a transfer in Sydney, then yes my baggage would be checked all the way through To clarify. In my case I used the multi stop option on the Qantas website to book two separate flights. These are listed separately on the itenarary, first a Melbourne to Canberra flight, then a completely separate Canberra to Sydney flight. They are only linked via the booking reference, like having and outbound and inbound flight on the same itenerary. Yes, I am confusing even myself here. |

I do a lot of multistop flight bookings, for example I might fly to CBR in the morning and then MEL that evening and yes QF will check your bag all the way through if you ask.
