I was out there yesterday morning, from 6:10AM until 10:45AM.

However, there were clear skies and nothing as spectacular as this. Was this on Saturday morning, perhaps?

Andrew you should enter the photography competition running over on the whirlpool broadband forums, under the photography section.

The current competiton is about "First Light", and is all about early morning photos. Yours would take it out for sure.

Great pics though!

Yep. Didn't know which way to turn as it was constantly changing! The camera couldn't do it justice.

One of the very few things I enjoy about starting work at 0500 is the sunrises, and Andrew's right, the camera just can't do it justice.

If anyone has a boat, then I recommend shooting the Port Botany wharves on a red sunrise and mirror finish on the water. If you can get an aircraft in it too then we can keep this thread on topic!

One of the things I thoroughly enjoy about my job, is because of the unusual working hours, you get to see some of the best sunrises and sunsets from the air. Sunset at FL240 is just spectacular, .

That is some serious crosswind action! Also that sunrise is pretty special Andrew, very very nice indeed.

And on the subject of Tower shots, here's one I prepared earlier

This was taken very early on June 2nd, 1996 and it has even made it into print (AA, Sept 2000 pp62).

Ahhhhhh the golden olden days!
