Big announcements will follow over the coming days.

MEL-ASP/MKY/ROK is to be moved to Avalon (to free up more room at Tulla as these routes are not as competitive), and AVV-SYD should be announced sooner or later and its going to be 2 daily (flight times are around 11am/2pm and 9am/5pm on the return)

-AVV-MKY is to moved back to 4 daily and will op in the evening.
-AVV-ASP/ROK will be 3w, with ROK to be an evening run.
-Goodbye ADL-HBA
-MEL-CNS possibly going daylight
-Bookings on AVV-OOL have broken records apparently and the route is to become 2 daily (no joke lol)

Some of the above does make me wonder though...If they jump on AVV-BNE then JQ would be pretty much screwed.

Thats 3 airlines that have now failed on the ADL-HBA flight. JQ failed first with B717's and A320's that was 3-4years ago, DJ failed with B737's and E190's last year. Now TT failed, That is sad, You would think with no competition TT would win.

Just say if all these services stay for a year. How many passengers could go through Avalon? According to Wikipedia 1,400,000 went through Avalon last year and that was just Jetstar and Sharp?

will be of interest what TT will do with the free room at Tulla...... Broome perhaps more frequency to DRW now that JQ is reported to be grumbling about fees like TT did a number of years ago and JQ jumped in.....
they are as bad as each other but I will say, a betting man just might put some outside money on TT starting to worry JQ.......especialyy also when you read, local pilots with QF are talking anger about JQ decision to go longhaul from Asian hubs..........they say an attempt to flout Aussie employment laws........mmmm..... maybe Singapore Airline just might be staying on board with TT and really steeping it up, particularly with the new GM.......
maybe AVV will be a success for TT as they really want the 2nd airport model which AVV is -
AVV BNE someone mentioned for TT scaring JQ...... it will gice them a scare but depends on times.......TT needs some good times but rumour has it JQ will step up SYD and BNE and if this is the case - that will bump TT ........

at the end of the day, AVV is a second choice airport and frequencies are out of Tullamarine

Goodbye ADL-HBA
Why would they operate ADL-HBA all through winter (low) season, only to drop it just in time for peak season???? With HBA-MEL only showing a second daily on Tue,Thu,Sat (arguably the weakest three days of the week), I think there is more to come for HBA. Maybe MEL-HBA-ADL-HBA-MEL on Mon,Wed,Fri,Sun or even MEL-HBA-OOL-HBA-MEL?

True Kain, I guess the previous Managing Director (who had no interest in these small routes) will leave the future of that route with the newbie, so you could be right. New Management, new decisions, and by looking at the return of the direct ROK/MKY runs, it wont surprise me either.

Loads have been pretty awful on that route on some days. It would be make more sense to go HBA-SYD than to Adelaide, which isn't really losing much aircraft time.

Tasmania state budget tomorrow, so maybe some funds for TT? Also, the new HBA landing charges agreement is due to be finalised by June 30, so TT might wait until this is done before committing to new services?

The only ways that TT can do AVV-BNE are either as a red-eye (unlikely) or from an aircraft that operates ???-BNE-AVV-BNE-???, since the 2 AVV based aircraft are already fully accounted for during normal hours. Maybe they wanted to do AVV-BNE where the second (evening) AVV-OOL is now, but changed their mind?
