Jarden if you're in CNS it looks like VKA is scheduled to fly to you this afternoon.

VH-VKA arrives in Sydney at 2100(18/10) from OOL as JST1614 then will depart on the 19th to Melbourne as JQ1615 at 1700 apparently, according to SACL, from Gate 58 at T2.

According to this it's arriving at T1 http://www.sydneyairport.com.au/flig...ydney/jq1614/0

And it's departing off Bay 33 at T1 http://www.sydneyairport.com.au/flig...ourne/jq1615/1

Bay 58 at T2 can't handle a B787....it only just squeezes an A320 on it in terms of length.

No matter where they decide to put the thing, it'll be great to see it in Sydney.

The future is here and it's amazing!

What a great future of technical problems that awaits us. No excitement factor for me until they actually manage to iron out the problems and have an acceptable dispatch rate. I'm not one to care too much about those fancy flexing wings or the great big windows.

Besides they're too quiet anyway! Crap from a spotters perspective, they'll be boring after a few months.

VH-VKA is on final for Runway 34L as JST1614 from the Gold Coast - is this the first visit to Sydney ?

Cleared to land Runway 34L and vacate of Foxtrot.

2056L Touchdown.

On ADS-B VHA appeared to vacate left on Foxtrot for the International Terminal - are there no B787-8 Gates at Jetstar Domestic ?

No B787 Bays at T2 yet. Only Bay 13 T3, Bay 93A and stand-off bays at Dom-6 on the domestic side.

Its also because the 787 ground handler is based out of the ITB. It's their opportunity to familiarise themselves with it.
