A US airline has caused controversy by decorating one of its planes with a picture of a sexy swimsuit model.

The Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700 has been emblazoned with Sports Illustrated cover girl Bar Refaeli to celebrate the magazine's annual swimsuit issue.

The Israeli supermodel, currently dating actor Leonardo DiCaprio, is pictured lying seductively in a revealing white bikini along the length of the plane.

Southwest Airlines unveiled the controversial plane for the first time at La Guardia aiport in New York.

The Boeing 737-700, which will fly between New York and Las Vegas will bear the sexy image on its fuselage for a limited time.

The low-cost airline hit the headlines in 2007 when a Southwest Airlines employee allegedly ordered a passenger off a flight for wearing a revealing outfit.

Kyla Ebbert, 23, from San Diego claims she was only wearing a snug-fitting white top with a scoop neck that stopped just short of showing cleavage during the incident.

Ms Ebbert said the flight attendant suggested she go to a gift shop to buy clothes. She offered to pull the top of her jumper tight over her breasts and her skirt down as far as possible, a compromise that was accepted.

The incident caused uproar in the US, with Ms Ebbert appearing on a series of chat shows before posing for Playboy magazine.

Looks pretty damn good if you ask me.

However, I must admit the idea (and design) is uncannily similar to that which used to be on a couple of the SkyEurope 737s not too long ago.
