Default Where is QF getting A330s for more MEL-PER?

Quote:
Qantas today announced it will increase Airbus A330 services on its Perth–Melbourne route from 15 October 2012.

“Qantas will increase A330 services from 44 services per week to 68 services per week replacing flights currently operated by Boeing 767 aircraft. Services operated by internationally configured Airbus A330s will increase from 12 per week to 37 per week,” said Mr Strambi.
Where are these A330s being pulled from? An extra 3.5 returns per day on average, so 2-3 pieces of metal involved.

I think I read something on the board about a second daily rotation of a 747 between SYD and PER.

It looks like (from the GDS) at least three of the services currently on a B763 will get swapped to A333s.

QF 775 0 MEL 6:05 PER 7:10 333
QF 777 0 MEL 14:45 PER 16:05 333
QF 773 0 MEL 17:45 PER 19:05 333

QF 480 0 PER 6:10 MEL 12:45 333
QF 762 0 PER 8:10 MEL 14:45 333
QF 776 0 PER 17:05 MEL 23:40 333

Consequently, the domestic A332 (which is currently on the QF777/776 rotation) seems to get put on the QF769/768 service.

QF 769 0 MEL 12:35 PER 13:40 332
QF 768 0 PER 14:40 MEL 21:15 332

Saturday will be mostly B763 and B73H as always.

Is it true QF has 1x A332 due for delivery at the end of the year?

AKL-LAX ended in May and some A330s were needed to take over SYD-BKK. There was also some change in March after A330s took over MEL-HKG.

Even if the aircraft were all free after May, what would they be doing until the increased MEL-PER rotations?

Yes Brad.

As of the 22nd of Feb this year VH-EBV is due in November.

I've seen nothing to say its been changed either.

It's an A332 in domestic config.

Todd.
