I also heard the plane was ferrying to Australia but I don't really have anything to back it up.

The Cessna 310 did a great landing on the water, good to see no one was hurt. Sorry to the guy who bought it.

What a great landing in less than calm conditions, great work by the pilot.

Did a bit of research and found the website of the pilot, who happens to own a ferry company / flight school in Spain. From reading some of his stories of past ferrys, he sounds like a bit of a cowboy ... ie. venturing into a non-VHF area of the Atlantic without a working HF radio, ferrying a G100 C182 without knowing how to operate the glass at all !

Found out (remembered?) that the fuel guy doesn’t take credit cards, only cash or carnet. Fortunately, I had $500, and a few euros. Fortunately, I had two credit cards, and there was an ATM in the terminal building. Unfortunately, it only dispensed 200 euros for any one card, so I JUST managed to pay him, and have VERY small change left.
*shakes head*

what a cowboy
