JST819 from BNE (VH-VQQ) went to ADL

JST626 from AVV (VH-VGF) went to LST
I saw these on Flightradar24 last night and thought they were strange places to divert to, I would have thought that they would returned to BNE and AVV.

Ended up heading to BNE, much to my disappointment.

From what I heard/read, it ended up having some serious issues with flaps/slats! OJC never arrived in Sydney until about 3pm yesterday afternoon still as QF108...

Todd.
Just an update for Todd and anyone else who's interested, the 34L HIAL gantry was installed last Tuesday night. It's about 45m long and hangs out over the water slightly (it's clearly visible from the southern end of 34R). No lights are in the water, and the system will have a 'running rabbit' strobe system.

According to the Notams testing of the 34L HIAL should take place this weekend during curfew and I'd imagine commissioning of the system should take place soon after that. Work has already begun on the 16R Cat II upgrade.
