Hi Ben
There are a number of commercial databases available such as freebird, spot2log and a few others. Or you could design your own Databases using Access or FileMaker Pro. I started off in the 1960s using various coloured pens to record all my sightings in logbooks and later transcribed most of the information into an Apple Claris Works Database when I purchased my first computer in 1996. I went to the "dark side" in 2001 and once again had to transcribe the records from the Apple system into my own purpose designed Access Databases which I still use today. They suit my purposes and have stood the test of time. I'm toying with the idea of using FileMaker Pro and have downloaded a trial version to see what it can do as I hope to merge several databases into one. |

I use Microsoft Excel for all my logged aircraft.
I also use Freebird for selected aircraft types as it has excellent reporting and search functions. It also allows you to log your personal flights. www.freebirddb.com It costs about $40 per annum.
