That was mentioned on another forum, Greg, and someone said 'they' (Bonza) cannot wet lease foreign registered aircraft and crew for domestic services. I'm not sure what they've based that on, however, as I'm not aware of any such restriction.

Back in the late 80's during the pilots strike, there were a large number of wet-leased northern-hemisphere based operators working in Australia. Not sure if they used foreign cabin or there a special rule in operation to cover the strike. |

That's what I thought Mark. Someone on the other forum thought there was a restriction so that FATAOC holders could only operate charters and private flights domestically, but I can't see that written anywhere.
On this, someone reminded me the other day that Smartlynx was granted a FATAOC earlier this year for their A330s, and was intending to work with CASA to add their A321, A320 and B737. One wonders if this might be the source for Bonza's wet leases. |

I know it’s a simple flying article. But flair and bonza have confirmed they will lease to eachother.

Just announced OOL-LST

OOL-LST at 3 x times per week is a smart decision. Both Ansett and TAA used to fly between these two cities back in the day and there will definitely be a demand here, particularly from the Launceston market. How it affects JQ's and VA's BNE-LST services will be interesting to see.

Bonza has, in the last week and a half, announced adding:
* OOL-ISA 2x weekly from 5 Dec; and * MCY-DRW, OOL-DRW and MEL-ASP to progressively commence between 29 Nov and 12 Dec. |

With two weeks before OOL flights commence we should see the Flair birds fly south for the winter, at this stage it may be one max and a 738, C-FFLC and C-FLEJ are probable candidates.
