This bug was mentioned by my sons computing lecturer at UNSW this morning - funny that it has not raised its ugly head in the three or so years of commercial B787 operation.

Unusual permutation of conditions needed, Grahame, so not surprising really. Interesting that Boeing self-disclosed.

I remember when we had the two uncommanded dives near Exmouth with the A330s we were told that it was impractical to test every unlikely permutation in modern avionics. I'm confident that every passenger would consider that rationalisation an absurd proposition!

Ah, good old CTRL-ALT-DELETE fixes the problem every time. :-)

Very glad it hasn't been an issue during the last three years of operation!!

In this day & age, Boeing would have no choice BUT to disclose the information to the authorities. Imagine if they didn't & something DID go wrong...

In reality, airlines don't leave aircraft for that long without shutting them down, so the chances of anything happening are next to none.

VKJ's delivery date has been moved again now to 1 July. VKK which is undergoing final assembly is still shown as 1 July as well with VKL 31 August.

Gentlemen, another delivery date change. VKJ is now shown as "Ready for delivery" with a date of 31 May. VKK still 1 July and VKL 31 August. VKJ has had 5 Pre delivery test flights

ZA223 Jetstar Airways 787-8 VH-VKJ is stored in stall 119. Rumor is VH-VKJ will be here until the end of June.

Paris Airshow June 15: Boeing and Garuda announced today that the airline will purchase 30 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, and up to 30 B737 MAX 8 aircraft
