Default Jst894 mel/cns 29oct (788)

Just noticed JST894 the 787 MEL/CNS has taken a righthand turn just south of the NSW/QLD border and looks like its headed for the coast.

Did the exact opposite on 25/10/13 en-route CNS-MEL then reaching the QLD/NSW boarder they turned to the coast.

Is this a requirement of proving ops, ie diversions? If so is it planned before departure, or does the ops room 'simulate' a necessary diversion at a point during the flight (without the onboard crew knowing beforehand)?
