Last I heard there was, but haven't seen the person who was trying to organise it for a few weeks

Hi all

Could someone who's chummy with a QF Pilot or a relevant department able to forward my curious enquiry onwards. Thanks!

Is it the same 737 type rating for both the -800 and -400 models, or are they separate type ratings with crews confined to the types?

Great to be there for the last -400, a water cannon salute was performed on departure in front of a decent crowd in the gate lounge!

QF pilots fly both ( or did ) fly both types 400/800. They are endorsed on both.

From what I've heard in the past the 737NG (-600/700/800/900) is 'backwards compatible' with the 'Classic' series (-300/400/500). So if you're training is on a 737NG you're good to go with the 'Classic' series, but not automatically vice versa.

QANTAS Boeing 737-476 VH-TJX was withdrawn from service at Melbourne this afternoon after arriving as QF815 from Canberra.

It may QF last B737Classics but there are still a few in Oz skies with QF Freight, Our Airline....

It's a pity that Longreach didn't get one

It's a common rating, the did sim checks in either the Classic or NG sim and had to do a small conversion check. Much the same as the A330/A340 common rating.

TJS will position MEL-SYD-APW-HNL-VCV on Wednesday as 6025 departing MEL at 1120 arriving SYD at 1245, continuing on to APW the next morning at 0620.

TJX will follow the same route as QF6020 on the same day, departing 20min earlier than TJS for all legs.
