Jetstar A320neo
Thought I would make a separate thread for the A320NEOs.
Jetstar's first A320NEO will be registered VH-A5A. It is currently in Toulouse in the new Jetstar livery (minus engines and winglets), registered F-WWTR. The first photos of it have now been published: https://aviation.flights/aib/A320/12328 The first five A320NEOs for Jetstar will be: VH-A5A (MSN 12328) VH-A5B (MSN 12229) VH-A5C (MSN 12374) VH-A5D (MSN 12545) VH-A5E (MSN 12556) |

Jetstar’s first A320neo spotted in flight tests
written by Jake Nelson | October 31, 2024 Jetstar’s first A320neo has been spotted undergoing flight tests at Toulouse Airport in France. VH-A5A, slated for delivery by the end of the year, was snapped in testing by a planespotter in Europe this week under the test registration F-WWTR. Jetstar currently has 13 A320neos on order up to the 2029 financial year. “We’re refreshing our short haul domestic and international fleet with our first A320neo due to touchdown next month (November), the first of five by mid-2025,” a Jetstar spokesperson said. “These new aircraft will support us to grow capacity and gradually replace our existing aircraft. Our 18th new Airbus A321neo LR arrived last week from a pipeline of new Airbus aircraft.” In general, the A320neo replaces the IAE V2500 and CFM56-5B engines on the original A320 (the A320ceo) with Pratt & Whitney 1100G-JM and CFM LEAP-1A engines while being slightly larger. The A320neo also features an updated cabin and curved “sharklet” wingtips that increase fuel efficiency. Jetstar has already been updating its fleet with the A321neo LR, with the first, VH-OFE, having arrived in 2022. Jetstar currently operates 17 A321neo LRs, with the latest, VH-OYR, delivered to Melbourne on 27 October only a few weeks after VH-OYU arrived on 10 October. According to Jetstar, the A321neos deliver 99.8 per cent mechanical reliability, are 50 per cent quieter than similar size Airbus A320/A321s, and burn up to 20 per cent less fuel. https://australianaviation.com.au/20...-flight-tests/ |
