Default Qantas 737 retro livery

Just out of curiosity does anyone know how long Qantas will keep VH-XZP in it's retro livery? Just curious is their a certain period aircraft are kept in special liveries.

Don't know, hopefully for the life of the aircraft. Realistically - the next repaint, which varies for each operator, probably 5 years plus.

VH-VXO was delivered in 2002 and has just gone in for a re-paint - not sure if this is the first.

VH-VXO is heading for 13 years old which is why it barely had any paint left on it... lol.

Wasn't VH-VXB the first special 738 repainted - also heading for 13 years.

Nice shot Grahame, classic scheme against the old control tower.

Agree, although that building is more than just the old control tower, having also housed the Area Approach Control Centre for most of its life, spent way too many night shifts there.
