Default RAAF Richmond Open Day Tickets

Open Saturday 10-2 on the 30th May
Limited to 5000 people.

What to expect
The Open House at RAAF Base Richmond will showcase a range of locally-based units, providing the public with an understanding of the different roles and capabilities that are supported by the base.

A C-130J Hercules transport aircraft will conduct a series of flypasts at this event, whilst another Hercules will be on static display to the public. Along with this, the Open House will feature demonstrations by the Australian Army’s No. 176 Air Dispatch Squadron.

Members of the public will have an opportunity to meet Defence personnel and see the equipment used for a range of Defence roles, including:

Airfield Engineering
Air Movements
Aero-medical Evacuation
Airfield Firefighting
The Air Force Balloon will also be present at the Open House, conducting a series of tethered flights (subject to weather).
More information will be provided closer to this event, including additional attractions and an itinerary.

  • Mobility devices (including wheelchairs and personal motorised scooters). Whilst every effort will be made to assist members of the public who require assistance to access the site, please note that some areas will feature uneven ground or grass surfaces.

The following items will not be permitted on site:
  • Alcohol, weapons, and illegal drugs.
  • Pets
  • Bicycles, razor scooters, and skateboards.

I managed to get in early enough for a ticket.
I don't think there will be too much flying, but it will be good to have a look around the base (as much as we are allowed).
