It looks as though IXJ is scheduled to commence flying for Virgin, tomorrow, 1/4/22 operating VA702 BNE - HBA. No joke, but always subject to change.

Now that the seven B738s from SilkAir are all in service with Virgin, does anyone have any further information on the next batch of seven aircraft. Specifically source, type: B737-800 or B737-700, expected arrival dates etc.

I can't find any further information since the original announcement was made in November, 2021.

They're 7 737-700s, quite late model (for -700s which haven't been built in serious number for many years. Coming from KLM, so they're quite well kitted out, apparently with Cat3B etc.

There are rumours these aircraft will go to VARA to replace F100s. I'm not sure I believe that one though. That would overly complicate Perth operations.

Thanks for the information, Yusef and Greg. Are any arrival dates known for, particularly the first aircraft?

There are 3 other ex-KLM birds returned to lessors late last year, and a number of the 10 still flying are leased. The 7 could be a mix of the two groups.
