Garuda goes AWOL 28 May 2008
ATSB final report released a short while ago:
http://www.atsb.gov.au/publications/.../AO2008037.pdf Suggests that Garuda crew were incommunicado for some 4 minutes during final ILS approach into Perth on 28 May last year, probably as a result of increased crew workload caused by last minute change to RWY 24 after RWY 21 clearance had been issued. In IMC perhaps it would be better to issue a go around rather than require a crew to rebrief the new rwy in 90 seconds.
