Default Tiger Airways A320 near Gold Coast on May 18th 2009, aileron control problems enroute

Something closer to home.......

A Tiger Airways Australia Airbus A320-200, registration VH-VNC performing flight TT-583 from Mackay,QL to Melbourne,VI (Australia), diverted to Bilinga Gold Coast,QL after the crew experienced aileron control problems enroute due to the failure of the ELAC1 control unit. The airplane landed safely.

The airplane was repaired and continued to Melbourne about 3 hours later, resuming regular service as flight TT-518 in the evening.
