Further payments to Ansett staff

Ansett administrators, KordaMentha, will pay former Ansett staff a tenth dividend today of $24.6 million bringing the total payments made to $697.8 million.

KordaMentha said the former 15,000 staff will now have received approximately 92 cents in the dollar of their entitlements.

Mr Korda said "the tenth dividend payment is 20 per cent of each employee's outstanding entitlements. It is an average of approximately $1,600 per employee, with some employees receiving more than $16,000."

The tenth dividend consists of $15 million to former Ansett employees and $9.6 million the Federal Government to repay staff entitlements previously paid under the Commonwealth SEESA scheme.

The latest payment is still approximately $60 million short of what was originally owed to former staff.
