Default You Saved My Life - Nagambie Skydiving Accident

Afternoon All,
For those who weren't watching Channel 9 last night, the TV show "You Saved My Life" featured a piece on the pilot of a skydiving aircraft involved in an accident 8 years ago, in Nagambie Victoria.

He was flying a Cessna 208 Caravan when one of the skydivers reserve shoot opened and wrapped around the tail of the aircraft, and then shortly after the tail seperated. The sequence of events that followed, can only be described as scary and absolutely amazing.

Barry (the pilot) exited the aircraft literally 2-3 seconds before the aircraft impacted the ground nose down and exploded. Unfortunately, the skydiver who's shoot opened, died from the event. However Barry's actions saved the lives of everyone else on board.

A copy of the show can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCyt-sIMym0

Enjoy

Mick
