Default SQ 231 & 232 (77W) from 2 June 09

I was making a reservation for my flight in July and i came across this change of equipment for SQ 231 and 232 from 2nd June 09. This service will revert back to the 744 on 25th October 09. So i guess it's probably good for us in Winter to catch this 77W as the later flight would be in the dark.

Actually SQ231/232 used to be a 773 service, it changed to all 744 a few years back.. But yep should be good having the new seating on another night flight SIN-SYD.

Actually, SQ219 and SQ220 will be the only 774 services to SYD during this period. SQ220 is the outbound A380 flight.

Also on 02JUN09 ADL's 777 will become an A330. This will leave a shortfall of seats, so let's hope we get additional services.

I Can tell where they are coming from, especially on premium services ( Business class, etc) My last flight with SQ being in xmas period and new years. On SQ222 Business class only had 12 passengers on board and on return SQ233 Business class only 8 out of 42 seats in Business class available.

So its bitting hard I guess.

SQ231/232 now showing up in some systems as a refitted 773 (code 73A). SQ219/220 may be downgauged to -SR series (72A), with SQ233/234 continuing for the time being as 77W. 219/222 remains as the dugong.

What product do SQ offer on their re-fitted 773? and which regos are refitted?

If both SQ219/220, 231/232 been replaced by 777s, that means the 747 will no longer operates to SYD. An extremely SAD sights for being a proud 747 lover, and a long tradition of SQ 747 in SYD will be broken.
