QF A380 SYD - LAX - SYD Schedule Jul 09?
So I am booked on QF11 SYD - LAX on Sun 5 Jul 09 and I notice that its changed from an A380 to a 744, same with my return leg on QF12 LAX - SYD Sun 12 Jul 09 which has changed from an A380 to a 744 as well. I have had a look at the other days around it that the A380 is 'scheduled' to fly but they are all 744 services as well.
Can one you you guru's out there shed some light why its changed? Are they using one on a different route or is one in for maintenance or something like that? |

I heard they were putting them onto the LHR services and leaving SYD-LAX as 2 per week (down from 4)

We had this problem as well but we are still on the A380 on the way back.
I was rather annoyed since we had booked to be on the A380 being interested in flying one but Qantas changed it. We asked if we could change to the next day but they wouldn't alow us. They were going to charge us the extra to go on the Wednesday rather then the Tuesday. The girls were quite upset with Qantas over this as they were wanting to fly the A380 but we are still on it on the way home. When is the 4th one due now? Sorry if I have missed it some where on here or is the 4th one delayed till next year now? Annette |

From http://www.qantas.com.au/info/flying/A380/schedule
Sydney - Los Angeles QF11/12- On selected flights - Service departs Fridays, Wednesdays and Sundays This is NOT a last minute change which their disclaimer tries to cover, I would be ringing QF and advising them that you booked the A380 based on this and would like to be moved at no cost to the A380 flight. The 744/A380 experience is NOT the same and you are not getting what was advertised |

Yeah i'm heading off to the States in June and i would of loved to fly on the 380, but all the flights im looking at going on are the 744. It's a pity they reduced the number of 380 flights, i would of thought the demand would be higher for the US

Otherwise there's no mention of QF11 being a 388 on a Tuesday in the implementation schedule, not withstanding that when searching schedules you can view what aircraft type is operating the particular flight. |

Hi Grant,
I was referring to Jarrad's post "QF11 SYD - LAX on Sun 5 Jul 09" Annette booked the Tuesday and there is no guarantee that Tuesday will be the A380 so nothing can be done for her! As I said before if I was Jarrad I would push the point with QF and I am sure they will change his flight if there are seats available and/or depending on his status look after him with a voucher or something! |
