Post RTO in Pyjamas - not too Posh!

Loved this from NineMSN news today:

Soccer celebrity David Beckham's wife Victoria was involved in a "pyjama drama" on an Air New Zealand flight, British media has reported.

The Sun newspaper said Posh (Victoria) and children Romeo and Cruz were left badly shaken after a runway scare on an Air New Zealand flight out of Los Angeles on Monday.

A bird flew into one the aircraft's engines moments before takeoff and the pilot slammed on the brakes.

Fire crews were called to check the aircraft's overheated brakes.
"It was then that the horrifying scale of the disaster really hit home for Victoria - she realised she was wearing standard-issue aircraft pyjamas and no make-up," The Sun reported. The Spice Girl stayed on the cancelled Los Angeles to London flight while the other passengers were bussed back to the terminal. She and the children were ferried back to the building separately and later caught another flight out of LA.
An Air New Zealand spokesman confirmed that the incident had occurred but would not confirm that Victoria Beckham and two of her children were on board.

He said a bird flew into one of the engines so the pilot took the aircraft off the runway onto a taxiway and parked. The engine was inspected.
The Aviation Herald reported that the aircraft had 338 people on board and the bird was ingested into the left hand engine.

Haha, that's awesome...I've often wondered the same thing when sitting in First Class and people slip on the PJs before pushback. Personally I always wait til Top of Climb!

Default Shoes on/off

A similar line, I always leave my shoes until we are well after take-off, some people take then off as soon as they sit down.

Told once, if the plane did crash on take off, better to have shoes on to get out of the plane across hot jagged metal than bare feet.
