Thumbs up Qantas aiming to halve check-in times

"Qantas Frequent Flyers' cards will be embedded with an intelligent chip, transforming them into personal boarding passes linked to permanent bag tags,"

great step forward with the use of technology

Banjo

ps woh and I thought QF was a boring old legacy airline with no initiative, and slowly dying

Happy to be proved wrong Andrew. I can't help thinking you've missed my point previously though.

I merely wanted to know what happened to the Qantas of the past. They were (and I still mean were) a fantastic world leading Airline constantly leading the world in so many ways. Now... maybe the shareholders demands for profit have become the number priority.

As for the new check-in facilities... is this new?

I can tell from your reply to Greg's post, you're pretty fired up about it. Why don't you go and have a work with Joyce and see if you can impress some of your passion for Qantas on him and then we can all benefit

All i know was the long duration i had to endure to queue up for the economy class checkin. Took almost an hour the other time. Gosh...

Even the internet checkin counter doesn't do much help either. It's normally just one or two counter that's open for this queue.
