Default QFA582 a 744?

Spotted leaving this afternoon for Sydney and confirmed with Webtrak a 744....this is unusual to say the least. Whats the scoop??

Not usual, but nothing out of the ordinary either. 744's have operated on and off to and from Perth for a number of years - mainly in peak times.

There may have been issues with one of the 330's and it was quicker to substitute to a larger aircraft to save delays.

Heavy pax loads, don't know about the flight to Perth but the return to Sydney was completely full as were other flights from Perth to Sydney on Sunday.

Changed early on Sunday morning due to unscheduled maintenance requirements on VH-EBJ.

VH-OEH was available due to its cycle of flying.

No wonder I saw it taxi all the way to RWY 16L/34R, with Flap 20 I guess?
Nice to see a B744 taking off from the shorter rwy.
