Default QF2 and QF42 diverted to ADL

ADL received A380 QF002 and A330 QF42 VH-QPB due SYD diversions. Terminal apron was congested around 7am. Almost comical to see MH139 arrived from KL doing laps of taxiway/apron waiting for available gate and to free up taxiway for departing a/c.

Question QF2 had to wait for a tug driver!

I heard that QF2 was delayed because "the" A380-qualified tug driver had to be located and rushed to the airport! Could that really be true?

Maybe it's a "Splash and Dash" due to strong headwinds across the pacific as Sydney seems to be coping with fog problems this morning. QF108 also heading for Brisbane.
Yesterdays BA15 divert to Brisbane has just re-positioned down to Sydney as BA15X and will operate yesterdays BA16 back to Heathrow this morning.
The scheduled BA16 for this afternoon has also been delayed until 0630 tomorrow due to operating crew being the ones arriving this morning on BA15X.

I had some people departing with BA16 on Saturday who flew out on Sunday morning. I must say that i wasn't really happy with how British Airways handled the whole situation. They could have done so much better.

Here's what the fog looked like from the air as seen at 7am yesterday morning.
So thick and extremelly low-vis underneath, but above 1000-2000' it's clear as day.
