Changes to Economy Fare Rules 05 August 2008

Effective 5th September 2008, Qantas will implement changes to Australian Domestic and International Retail, Wholesale and Corporate Private published economy fare rules for point of sale Australia. These changes will deliver further consistency across the tariff structure.

Summary of Key Changes

International and Domestic Published Economy

Change fees have been standardised resulting in some decreases on the International network and a slight increase across the Domestic network.

- International Change Fees: The change fee applicable to the Red e-Deal and Super Saver Fare Families has been revised, and the following amendments will apply:

Current Effective 05 September 2008
(Carrier / Routing changes) (All changes)

Red-e-Deal AUD100.00 AUD50.00
Super Saver AUD100.00 AUD50.00
Fully Flexible No Fee No Fee

For consistency, change fees on the Red e-Deal and Super Saver economy fare families from Australia will now apply for all changes (including date/time/carrier/routing/fare construction changes) at AUD50 per transaction.

The new fee level applies to changes made to Red e-Deal and Super Saver tickets issued on/after 5th September 2008. Tickets issued prior to 5th September 2008 are subject to the rules applicable to the fare at the time of original ticket issue.

Please refer to the conditions of each fare rule to determine whether a change fee applies.

Please note that all changed tickets, where fees apply in accordance with the fare rule, must be re-issued with the change fee shown as a YR code on the new ticket. Collection of the change fee on a separate document is not permitted.

- Domestic Change Fees: The change fee applicable to the Red e-Deal and Super Saver Fare Families has been revised, and the following amendments will apply:

Red-e-Deal AUD38.50 AUD44.00
Super Saver AUD38.50 AUD44.00
Flexi Saver No Fee No Fee

The Qantas Red e-Deal fare will continue to offer our customers excellent value as the lowest available fare from the Qantas website.

The new fee level applies to changes made to Red e-Deal and Super Saver tickets issued on/after 5th September 2008. Tickets issued prior to 5th September 2008 are subject to the rules applicable to the fare at the time of original ticket issue.

Please note all changed tickets, where fees apply in accordance with the fare rule, must be re-issued with the change fee shown as a YR code on the new ticket. Collection of the change fee on a separate document is not permitted.

Full details can be found via the relevant fare notes in the GDS, and/or online at qantas.com.au/agents

To assist with the interpretation of Qantas published Domestic fares, Qantas has released a standard conditions document to be read in conjunction with the GDS Fare rules.

International and Domestic Waitlists: Effective for reservations made on/after 5th September 2008, waitlists in S, V, N, O and Q class will no longer be accepted. Any waitlisted segments in these classes created prior to the 5th September will be maintained for clearance, subject to availability.

International Published Economy

International economy class fare rules from Australia will be amended to standardise conditions across destinations. The key changes are outlined below.

- Minimum Stay: Minimum Stay requirements have been removed on all fare types for all destinations.

- Stopovers/Transfers: Some stopover options have been amended and the number of permitted transfers has been changed to unlimited (within the permitted routings of the fare). Agents should refer to the route maps, in accordance with the fare rule, to identify applicable stopover/transfer cities and carriers.

- Ticketing Deadlines: Payment and Ticketing deadlines have been simplified to enable consistency across all markets, and to better ensure the return of unticketed seats to inventory for early resale.
