Default Portable Photo Storage

Hey everyone as some of you know im going to HK on Saturday and mum is worried about taking the laptop so i can store all my Gig's of photos i will be taking.

Is there any 'item' I can buy which i can transfer my photos directly from my camera to a USB or external hard drive divice, or similar that I can take there which will enable me to be able to delete my photos from my camera yet still have them saved for when I get home? How big are they and how much is theres such thing? Thanks for any help.

Tim

I have been using a Nikon Coolwalker for many years, it has a 30Gb HDD and automatically offloads the CF card to the HDD using separate folders. The screen for previewing is very average but I don't really us it for viewing. There is other menu functionality to copy, move and rename images and folders. The Coolwalker has a mini USB ortp for connecting directly to the laptop.

I shot over 2500 images on the holiday in Europe during August and unloaded them to the Coolwalker each day.

There are probably many other devices on the market now, and much cheaper than what I paid years ago. However the Coolwalker has proved to be absolutely reliable and is very light for traveling.
