Default Qantas 747 welcome

On Wed 1st July witnessed airport fire engines give a Qantas B744 a water spray welcome as it was pulling into gate parking.

Anyone know the reason

I think there's been a couple of retirements lately of 747 Captain's. No doubt with the prospect of having to change fleets with the reduction in 747 numbers, most are probably just thinking it's time to retire.
