400d hints and tips

hi there all

i hav recently saved up the funds and bought a Cannon 400d and Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS lens aswel. this is a lens to get me started as i have spent all my money on this camera. im not new to the idea of spotting having slaved away with a Panasonic Lumix so have learnt quite a bit about modes that work and what not, however any advice from more experienced users would be greatly apreciated
