Not a good start with the new livery! Maybe a sign for DJ to paint her blue again.
I was gonna wait for pushback for an unobstructed shot but it was delayed for over an hour. |

Nice pic ... shame they didn't have the text on the tail in blue as a nod to the old scheme.

If you count Virgin Australia, VA(NZ), Virgin Samoa and the 777s, the group's 100th aircraft has to be coming up reasonably soon... by my count including some of the upcoming deliveries (A330s and 738s) there'll be 96 in the next couple of months. Perhaps they've got something planned for the 100th, which seems fair given the '50th aircraft' milestone is a bit outdated now?
Having said that, I loved VBY as well and as good as she looks in the new colours she looked better in that blue! |

Maybe they see it as a waist of money putting Virgin Australia stickers on all the fleet only to later remove them when the painting is done.
I agree they should have at least one aircraft in a special livery (and I don't count the Samoa one as a special its mainly white too) as soon to be 100 aircraft fleet all in a white livery will be very boring as there be nothing unique to look out for out our airports! |

Would I be correct in saying that the leased aircraft won't get painted into the white livery? (ie. all the 700s with the exception of VBY/Z, VUM, VUN, etc.).
Also, do the repaints (VOK, VOQ, VUF and VBY) retain Live 2 Air or just the satelite for it?

When I zoom in on my photo of VBY today with emergency exit doors open, I can see TV screens on the back of the seats so I'd assume its still Live2Air.

Saw VOQ and VOK both still retain live 2 air.
