Default Cocaine Bust Syd Airport involving Airport Workers

Just heard on 2GB News that there was a bust at the airport yesterday including 6 staff on a cocain smuggling racket..

Coke was smuggled inside plane holds and removed from them by ground staff once in sydney.

Quote:

SIX men have been charged over an alleged cocaine importation syndicate that involved packages of drugs being smuggled through Sydney Airport.

A joint investigation by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Australian Customs led to raids on six Sydney homes on Sunday and the seizure of a kilogram of cocaine with an estimated street value of $350,000.

Authorities allege some of the men work at Sydney Airport and moved drugs packages out of the facility undetected.

Search warrants were executed at Bexley, Glenwood, Matraville, Merrylands, Mascot and Maroubra, where quantities of Australian and foreign currency were also seized.

Six men, aged between 20 and 55, have been charged with importing and conspiring to import border controlled drugs, and dealing in the proceeds of crime.

The offences carry penalties from 15 to 25 years imprisonment.

The new story has just aired on Ch7 and Ch10 in Sydney ... Typical coverage , Ch7 showed footage of Ansett Aircraft !! , while Ch 10 showed a United 747 which they claimed was the transporting aircraft ... It begs the question , if the United flight was involved , then who is the syndicate at the US end loading the stuff ??

The news (on radio) reported that they all worked for an "Airline catering company" and the company's headquarters had been raided!

No one eats airline food, so they could hide drugs in the food
