Mick, the Q400 is not in a different wake turbulence category. At around 29t they are well within the medium category. However its climb and cruise speeds are somewhat higher than the 1-2-300's.

Oliver, I think that was agreed to between Airnoservices and SS to trigger the ATCO's about the higher handling speeds.
