Default Whats on your phone?

Hi all,

Firstly... I dont want to start an Android vs iPhone battle here.. lets keep it nice and clean.

Secondly, what do you have on your smartphone that is aviation related.

Ringtones, and Apps?

I have an F18 hornet taking off as my email notification sound and the following apps:
AviationWeather
ConvertDroid for converting units etc...
Flight Tracker
IATA / ICAO Dictionary
TripAdviser

A few others, but that I dont have installed yet.

Chris,
The paid version of Flightradar24 is MUCH better than the free version. The paid one has different symbols for different aircraft types (ie for an A346, the symbol is a long, skinny, 4 engined aircraft resembling the A346 rather than just the normal twin engine logo). If you click on a particular aircraft/flight, it will bring up all it's details ie: flt no., altitude, speed, lat & long, where is going to/coming from, rego, which radar picked it up etc. I would recommend the paid version anyday. Well worth the money & has worldwide coverage.

I got an iTelephone less than a week ago and still having a hard time trying to use them, but slowly getting there! Although not overly aviation related, some apps I do have which may interest others are:

Hipstimatic - An Camera Phone app which takes photos in old film style. Comes with adjustable lenses and film effects for certain styles, such as the ones below.

8mm - Another Camera Phone app which takes video also with 8mm film effects. Haven't got any examples yet, will soon!

Star Walk - AWESOME app! I don't know a thing about astronomy, though I live in the country and very lucky to be able to get some spectacular skies out here, and Star Walk allows you to point your phone in a direction towards the sky and identify stars, planets and satellites and a heap more. Absolutely love this app!

Anyhow, enjoy!

For me on the iPad2, FlightRadar24, FlightBoard and Live ATC are definite winners.

FlightRadar24 Review

For fun, FlightCtrl HD.

As if you'd own an iPhone or an Android anyway

Proud RIM Blackberry owner here...

To get back on topic, off the top of my head, my phone carries the VA app, LX app, CX app, MH app, Air Asia app. Use to have the Kayak Travel app but ditched it because it was useless...

EDIT: Also have an app called 'GoHowAirport' gives apparent real time info on arrival/departures for various airports around the world..
