Ok, so my phone is probably antique compared to the ones being described above (I have a Sagem MyC5-2V).
Since my phone is so damn old, I pretty much don't/can't get any "apps" or the like on my phone, so I make do with a few audio clips and whathaveyounot. I have a few favourite audio clips from some of the Air Crash Investigation episodes as well as a whole array of audio clips of cockpit warning sounds (e.g. stall warning, overspeed, terrain, etc). But probably my best is my ringtone, which goes like this... "500...minimums....100....60...50...40...30....20. ...10....caution terrain, caution terrain....whoop whoop...ground proximity, pull up, ground proximity, pull up....terrain, terrain....bank angle, bank angle...stall-ll, stall-ll *combined with the rattling of the stick shaker*...whoop, whoop, terrain, terrain". Really gets heads turning at uni or on the train sometimes

Just downloaded the FlightRadar24 app. It's good, particularly to know what's flying above me, however I noticed that it doesn't show up all the regional RPT planes (I.e. QantasLink, Rex, etc).
I'm assuming there's a reason for it? Something to do with the equipment the aircraft carry? |

I've got FlightRadar24 (full version), LiveATC.Net and the FlightControl game. Also, while not strictly aviation related, I have the Dominos pizza App, for ordering delivery to the beach (when it's just too far to go for maccas...). I also have the message board, the METAR and the BOM Wind Forecast bookmarked in Safari.
I also have the Webjet app for searching the best airfares (which I then book through the airline to avoid the booking fee...)

The only REX aircraft that will show up are the B+ models.

I keep it simple really, I have OzRunways 2.0 mainly so I can have the ERSA which is useful in familiarising myself with the map of my airport. I do have the Coffs terminal chart on there too but I tend to use my own paper copy or the one on the wall at the flying school. I don't bother having weather apps because I just have a look at the airservices briefing before I leave home and with my instructor at the hangar. I should probably think about backing up my logbook on there too...

Paul f., thanks for that! I've noted the B+ Models showing up on the radar since.
Is it the same case with QLink and the Dash-8s? |
