Lightbulb short sighted government...take note!

Speaking of DC-8's, there's one due in Sydney in a day or two. And just for the Ministers sake, I hope it lands 16R and departs 34L.

For unscheduled 'noisy' aircraft, why don't they just do what they used to do for the Concorde years ago and insist all arrivals are in the 34 direction, and departures in the 16 direction, that way the movements go more over water and less over population???

I hope your not joking. Is there one coming in. I was going to say it has been too long since I have seen a DC-8 or a 707 at Sydney.

Bring back the 707. I guess the DC8s with upgraded engines such as the dash 73 will not be an issue.

Agree on both counts - I loved the 727's, the noise, the smoke.........

It is totally political. Remember that election that is coming up?

I think he is just being a cruel man, playing with my emotions he is. I would take time of work to get a few shots of a dc8. Why can't James packer take after his dad and use a dc8. Or better still get John travolta to move to Sydney and bring his toys.

Populist policy in an election year. Yet another ploy by politicians to win quick votes.

Don't you just wish you can mute the noises made by the anti-aircraft groups?
The amount of movements probably have increased year on year but they don't seem to realise aircraft have gone quieter and quieter compared to the days of the 707s, 727s and DC8s

Cruel man? Is that an attempt to get into the memorable quotes thread?

No point in taking time off work to get a few shots...an African International DC-8 is expected to arrive tomorrow morning at ~0605, which is well before first light. As long as you're off work during daylight hours you should be able to get a shot or two before it leaves.
