Just flew on the brand-spankin' -VWW tonight; MEL-OOL-MEL (448/449). And parked next to -VWX (ops SYD-OOL-SYD) during turnaround at OOL.

It was very pleasant to fly an A321 with the new interior like the recent A320s, the cabin looked even longer with the sleek lines. The rear galley area with the 3-lav combination provides MUCH more room down there for crew and pax movements.

The mid-cabin exits also seem to have more room around them but I think that's just the lighter white, airy and clean feel of the wall panels and new seating. For those requesting exit row seats on the new models; the actual exit row seats at Doors 2, 11BC and DE still have the increased leg room but now have slightly decreased seat width, of which a couple of pax were only too happy to point out to me. 11A and F do not exist - the new 'best' seats at Doors 2 are 12A and F with no seat in front of you for a good 2 metres and you get the usual seat width. Doors 3 exit row (25) is still the usual 6 across.

Very smooth bird overall, lovely to fly on.
