QF81 SYD to ADL
Just wondering if anyone has taken the domestic flight only on QF81 from Sydney to Adelaide (A333)? What time do you need to rock up to check in as it is a domestic from international terminal?
Also, are there usually of business seats left on this flight so I can upgrade using points? Im a bronze FF holder so just wondering if I should risk paying the extra $$ for a Super Saver fare so I have the ability to upgrade. |

From memory the e-ticket recommends checking in by 60 minutes before departure.

I'm guessing you would have to be checked in as per international rules. So 60minutes before minimum.

The lastest time as mentioned by others is 60mins, but I think 90mins before departure is about right if you want to have a look around and enjoy the Qantas Club. As to your second question, the easiest way to find out is to make a dummy booking for a J class award seat for the flight and if an award seat is available, it means you can upgrade to J using points. Enjoy the flight. I certainly enjoyed the Skybed on the short hop from SYD to MEL when QF 136 was still operating. |

Rich,
I have caught this flight a number of times. I would advise 60 minutes check in time, as it can get a little busy passing through immigration, particularly whilst the works are going on for piers C & D. I tend to get there a little earlier to get a cooked breakfast in the P Lounge which is necessary to line my stomach as I'm normally going over to watch my brother play footy, and there is plenty of amber fluid flowing into the night. I've found the flights are generally at 40% capacity, and the J seats around 15%. Although the flight is domestic, international upgrade rules apply, so you can't use points on the day. I haven't tried nominating early for an upgrade, as I normally get a row to myself, the J papers, and as it's an A330, an individual screen to watch 3/4 of a movie. The only real advantage to J is the skybed. Always nice to check out when you only pay for a discount Y, but I use the fare difference between Red-e and Super Saver to go onto the footy club's bar Cheers,
