I am presuming the aircraft is stripped inside of seats, galley equipment, IFE control unit etc before departing? If that is the case does anyone know the weight difference between OJG and a fully outfitted QF744?

What would they do with the seats?

Nothing is removed from the aircraft prior to departure. It goes as a fully working aircraft. Seats, Galley, IFE all functional.

Really!? Wow, I would've thought they'd go for the weight saving and strip it all out before departure... especially with the length of time OJG has been in Sydney.

Isn't all of the interior part of the 'package' when it comes to sell, or... I hate to say it, scrap the aircraft?

To my knowledge, yes that is the case. Internal features can make the company scrapping the aircraft a decent amount of coin once on sold.

Cheers

Guess it depends upon whether the airline needs spares for themselves, the age of the aircraft and what possible uses it may have in the future.
