Default Singapore A380

Just after some advice from those who have flown Singapore's A380 aircraft comparing the upper deck economy section vs the main deck economy section. Which option is preferred. I am travelling from Changi to Heathrow soon and trying to choose the best option for the family.
Cheers.

Tom,

Having sat in both the main and upperdecks in whY on SQ's 388 I can confidently say that I prefer the upperdeck!

Service is much quicker and thus more efficient with only a limited amount of pax to be served by the crew.

It feels less like cattle class upstairs as well

Agree with Grant and Brad. Upper is the way to go. The 2-4-2 (upper) instead of the 3-4-3 (lower) layout gives it a better feel

Tim - I flew SQ220 (9V-SKF) a couple of weeks ago on the upper deck and it was great. I have just added some pics, trip report style at www.darrenbutterworth.com

The only unusual thing was that because you are so high off the ground on the upper deck and my seat was so far back, I felt like we touched down a good five to ten seconds before I was expecting it.

Darren, thank you for posting the link to your webpage. I am very much looking forward to flying to Paris on a SQ A380 in December. I have selected seats 77 J & K upstairs so the positive remarks about that cabin were good to read. Travelling as a pair having 2 seats to ourselves without worrying about clambering over some one else seemed to be the obvious option. If I may just say, hopefully without sounding too gooshy, your website is fantastic as it is obviously a work of love and passion for you.
