Sydney - New York
I was hoping for some advice on the best option (fair economy fare, good service) it is to fly to New York.
On the top of my head the options would be ANZ, QF, UA and Delta. Then there is the option of flying via Asia with an Asian carrier. Any feedback would be much appreciated. I am considering Delta as I do like the 777, but I heard the service is not that great (can anyone confirm).

I have flown SYD > JFK 3 times now with Qantas. First time I went SYD > LAX then transferred to AA to JFK loads of delays with AA and they lost my luggage. Qantas is so much easier.

I have always done SYD-JFK on the QF107/108, and when the same B747 was used the whole way. Easy as, with a short stopover over in LAX, just what you need after the long Pacific sector. You need to pick up your bags in LAX first and take them to a transfer area in the adjoining room.
