Photos: Tyabb Air Show 2012
Hi folks
About two weeks ago, I went down to Tyabb, on Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula, for their Biannual airshow they hold at Tyabb Airfield, organised and run by the Peninsula Aero Club on Sunday 4th March 2012. The airshow had a mixture of aircraft from warbirds, particularly those locally based at Judy Pay's The Old Aeroplane Company collection, as well as normal civil aviation aircraft types like Cessnas and a formation display featuring three Robinson Helicopters, just some of the many things they flew on the day. The following are my best photographs from the day (And the night before), culled as much as I could to the following featured in this thread. Hope you all enjoy them! An interesting display of a Banner Towing aircraft
To begin the flying display, a Cessna, VH-PQQ, took off, did a circuit, and flew low level for the banner to be attached to the aircraft which it then carried skywards. The banner opened the Flying Display of the 2012 airshow, before it came back in to drop the banner and then another circuit for a landing. The Flying Display begins! |

Tim, I returned to Melbourne the following weekend (Their Labour Day Long Weekend) and this race on Phillip Island was part of the agenda. Unfortunately I didn't make it, as like any long weekend, EVERYTHING is on!
