Will be interesting to see how this will be handled, especially with the way the Domestic terminal is at the moment.
I guess there would need to be some major redevelopment at Domestic to accomodate the big birds for QF international. Also it would be interesting to see how they would split domestic and int services, separate entrances for Dom/Int? or processed through the same area with Dom passengers getting express passage? Will be interesting to see what happens |

The Mound and a number of other photo locations will disappear if the conceptual photos are to be believed.
Look like in the next ten years, Sydney Airport will become a closed shop as far as spotting and photo ops are concerned. I've always said that the aviation enthusiasts will eventually get locked out of YSSY and gradually get pushed back further and further to a point where it will be impossible to do anything apart from approach or climbout shots. |

It makes sense but so much work needs to be done, particularly to the domestic terminals. They really still need another option between the terminals in terms of transport (e.g. a monorail).

Not really, just a streamlined, cost effective, airside shuttle option. Splittign the alliances across different sites will mean there is no commercial reason for anyone other than the aiprot to develop it though.....

Interesting future... -Virgin Australia have removed winglets off their B737s -"V Australia" titles on B777s set to return -Etihad Airways , Korean Air , Thai Airways International, Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, China Eatern are bringing A380 to Sydney. Seemingly most major international airlines execpt ANZ/BA are bringing A380 down under. -Air New Zealand will be all 777-300ER ops. -Hifly are bringing 5 A340-300s for ADF ops. This will seemingly eliminate Frieght terminal. -American Airlines are flying to Sydney using B777-200 aircraft. -Qantas 787's are bringing back the old livery. -JAL will be using 777-300ERs to Sydney in the future. -Jetstar and Tiger Airways now using B737 aircraft. A320's retired. -South African Airways starting services here using B737 aircraft! -British Airways will start using 777-300ER here also. -REX has decided to remove livery from all SAAB 340B aircraft.
