I read the a book a few years back - I think it was called 'Death of Ansett' (???) - it spoke a lot of the politics involved...I think SQ almost had AN but Howard/Anderson at QF's urging convinced NZ to go 100% and stop sale. Also spoke about the 767 grounding and that it was not necessary and really crippled the airline. I too tend to agree that while AN's situation was dire QF sure did help in sending it to the grave.
