Having spent many years working in Europe I can tell you that it is not just LCC's that inconvenience passengers the way Tiger did.
I can document at least 10 occurences (the most recent being last year with BA) when flying with "proper" airlines like BA,Lufthansa and Cathay Pacific when I have ended up hundreds of kilometres from where I was supposed to be due to last minute diversions etc.
I can also advise that in all but a couple of cases the airlines involved did not go out of their way to help me.
This attitude of "that's what you expect from LCC"S" is actually unsupported by facts.
Perhaps LCC"s do manage their fleets in order to minimise disruption to schedules but "proper" (there's that word again") airlines have, and do the same thing.
