From Twitter ...
Brisbane Airport @BrisbaneAirport 17m The AFP is currently responding to a security matter airside. Until resolved all flights will be held. Further flight updates to come. Singapore 245 was cleared to land at the Gold Coast Runway 32 and asked if there was enough room to turn around at the end. On FlightRadar24 they have now tracked south of the Gold Coast after many orbits over Moteton Bay. JQ570 and VA999 are both holding south of the Gold Coast. 2315L Singapore have now contacted Gold Coast Tower and look like they are going to land there even though Brisbane may be about to open. 2320L SQ245 touchdown at the Gold Coast. JQ570 and VA999 are heading for Brisbane.

YBBN now open 23:35, just as SIA 245 landed at Coolangatta..He must be spewing about this after circling YBBN for so long.
I guess with many a/c at Coolangatta parking is an issue as well as taxing. Tower guys thought fueling might be an issue for some of them. Apaarently, The tower at Coolangatta agreed to stay open later than usual to get a/c on their way to YBBN. I see now many a/c now leaving Coolangatta for YBBN. YBBN tower was advising pilots that taxing instruction might be a bit strange as he needed to guide aircraft for departure around parked a/c. |
