Default Fuel Shortage At Melbourne Airport
It is being reported that there is a fuel shortage happening now at Melbourne Airport.
The shortage is due to the rejection of a shipment of fuel that did not meet quality controls.

What happens to the rejected fuel?

Not the day to take your A380 to Melbourne for a refuel.

It was reportedly an entire ship load.

Etihad MEL-AUH approaching Sydney now for fuel before continuing. 2 EYs at once on the ground.

Here comes Jetstar 1 MEL-HNL too...

The jet fuel can be re-refined. I don't know if it can then be sold as jet fuel. When avgas is rejected it can be blended and sold as vehicle petrol. Diesel maybe?

They will have to get it back from Melbourne airport to Altona. Reverse fuel line run?

It doesn't get the fuel to Melbourne airport via trucks.

Quite a proportion of Jet A1 is trucked in from Yarraville which at present is not connected to the JUHI feed from Altona.
